I don’t know why they didn’t just make this show a Dick Grayson show. I mean they literally could have called it Nightwing and have had this episode be the finale for its first season.

So Deathstroke is this impeccable fighter and the fight scenes he has throughout this season have been great and some of the show’ best but when Dick finally embraces being Nightwing, I couldn’t help but feel a bit underwhelmed by the confrontation. Rose AKA Ravager, helps Dick and together they take down Deathstroke. I want to say that this was the most underwhelming result to a villain I would categorically say made this season better but I don’t think I need to. Jericho transfers his spirit into Rose. This also messed with me because no one tried to come up with a way to get Jericho his own body, this whole episode could have been built around the Titans, sans Conner and Gar, coming together around this Jericho and Deathstroke dilemma. A more fulfilling scene would have been one where Deathstroke takes on ALL the Titans and one of them dying in that battle before he eventually dies. It was too rushed and they messed up the ending to a great villain.

Cadmus’ plan seems to revolve around Conner, not surprised about that. Cadmus uses Gar to attack a carnival and in the ensuing violence, Conner is supposed to show up and take down Gar in a show put on by Cadmus as a way to either fund their research into making more Conner’s or as a bid for Conner, either I was super interested in this playing out better. Cadmus’ plan was extremely well done but I find it foolish for them to have Conner in their grasp and still not use Kryptonite-laced bullets just in case. I also found the confrontation between Cadmus, Conner and Gar versus the rest of the Titans underwhelming because despite being this season’s most underused character Gar deserved an arc that could have lasted until next season the same way Rachel got one. Cadmus is more than extremely powerful and I feel like the team could have then used Bruce Wayne’s guidance on how to take down Cadmus and bring Gar and Conner home but instead they rushed the completion of the story and instead of setting up what could have been the Titans first strategic fight next season, they set up an underwhelming confrontation.

When Donna got electrocuted I thought that she was just going to be extremely injured but leave it to Titans to kill off a character they barely explored for a character like Ravager who I am not going to lie to you guys, I do not like as much. I think I would have highly preferred for Rose to have played a villain, at least for a little while longer.

Look Titans is one of the shows where I complained about them not utilising characters they already had but they kept adding new ones. I am guessing the hope is that now that Jason is out there on his own and Donna is dead they might be able to focus more on the rest of the Titans but I find myself unconvinced. By this point in all superhero shows the heroes have either learnt their powers well enough or have fought together with their teams but this show is like the complete opposite. These guys have barely fought together, besides the previous Titans and Rose, they barely have a good handle on their abilities. I still keep thinking about how we are about to go into this shows’ third season and no one has tried to get Gar to shapeshift into another animal or has gotten Rachel to expand on her abilities or even Kory to expand on hers and they form the original cast.

Well this is just one finale episode and I guess I could not have asked for them to pull off miracles but hopefully, with Blackfire seemingly loose on Earth, the Titans come together and act like a more coordinated team. I honestly thought with the addition of Bruce Wayne as guidance, they would get more strategic.
